How a random weekend plan landed me in one of the most beautiful cities!

Since my stay in the US is time-bound, I and husband have decided to make the most of every weekend. Each Friday, we sit down cook dinner together and shortlist the driveaway places that can be covered in 2 days and then finalize based on the weather forecast of the places. So for us, it’s lately been all about beaches because with Fall approaching, most of the beaches are being closed until the next summer. However, this time we were confused between going to a beach or waterfall/mountain kind-a place.

But if you know me by now or follow me on my Instagram, you would know that I can go to a beach every weekend/weekday πŸ˜› And the funnier part is my husband leaves me with the final choice to make πŸ˜€ (you know… happy wife, happy life πŸ˜› )

So, we rented a car from Avis and headed towards Atlantic City (mini Vegas). None of us were actually in the mood to see a mini version of it (since we already went to Vegas in June this year) but we googled places around and got to know that the Atlantic City Beach Boardwalk is pretty decent to visit. We started from Jersey City at around 11:30 AM and reached around 2:30 PM. The beach was ok-ish and slightly crowded (given the Vegas fact and Casinos). It was the best time to soak the sun, so we took a dip, had lunch on the beach and sun-bathed for 2 hours.

Now let me tell you, why I decided to choose Atlantic city. While googling for places around, my husband found another city 45 mins further from Atlantic City named Cape May. The internet suggests it to be one of the most beautiful cities to live in New Jersey and obviously we wouldn’t have missed a chance to visit it. That’s how we landed there.

The Cape May Beach is one of the most beautiful, calm & serene beaches I have ever seen in my life. I am always fascinated by a beach but this time it was something other than this. I can’t begin to tell you how lovely shopping streets this place has. Washington Street and Carpenter’s street were at a walking distance from the beach. These streets have a perfectly-decored gift & decor stores.

Each store has a unique ambiance and color combination. Even the Motel’s on these streets were super cute like- yellow color. It was one of the most colorful streets ever. Ohh, and the restaurants had the perfect outdoor seating covering most of the cuisines.

The overall vibe made me so so happy and cheerful which made me realize that sometimes it’s okay to not plan things in advance or rather stick to a plan.

It’s worth taking chances because you will either end up with a new & thrilling experience or learn something about it. I have included a lot of pictures to let you know how beautiful the city and my weekend was!!
