The Power of Color Dressing

I know I know; how difficult it can be to choose the perfect color for your wardrobe collection. Since there are so many outfits available in multiple colors, it becomes tricky to pick the right one. So, I am here to help you pick the right color for the right occasion.

Firstly, every color you wear defines your current mood and overall personality. That doesn’t mean you have to stick to one, just make sure to wear the right one at the right time and place. And you can have fun with every color- Casual or Formal. 🙂

Let’s decode………

  • Red: This color is super bold and elevates the energy level, shows aggression, passion and can be a little intimidating at your workplace. However, all the above reasons are why it’s a perfect color for a date night. You can tone it down if you want to wear it to work by wearing it as a Blazer or pair a red shirt with a check/plain skirt or trouser.

  • Black: One can never go wrong with black, be it formal or casual wear. “Black is always the new Black”. It conveys sincerity, seriousness, and power. Nothing like wearing a black suit for your presentation. It makes you appear more confident than you already are. And how about a “Little Black Dress” (LBD) for a date night or a girl’s night out? As chic & sultry one can look in a black dress, this color also gives a slimming effect.

  • White: This is one of my most favorite color in the entire world. Summers are so perfect with a white maxi dress or a white Chikankari Kurta with a multicolored stole. This color symbolizes peace & perfection. A nicely ironed white shirt can do wonders at your workplace. The best part is you can accessorize a lot of things with white.

  • Grey: Although grey is considered to be a formal color, it usually suggests a lack of passion & dullness. However, if paired with a bright color such a Blue or black, it can change the whole appearance.

  • Purple/Violet: As bright as it may sound, this color will never give you a dull moment. It is a color that amplifies your creativity, royalty but needs to be added subtly. It is a color of luxury (a purple tie or a scarf).

  • Brown: The color brown generally suggests that you are stable, approachable, friendly and grounded. A brown skirt with a white/black shirt looks formal and casual at the same time.

  • Blue: Everything is so right about this color. Actually, this is one of the most adorned colors, especially in a formal setup because it is considered to be a color of calmness, trust and wisdom. And everyone enjoys a peaceful environment full of wit. 😛

  • Orange/Yellow: I will put both of these bright colors in the same category. Both give fun, energetic, happy and enthusiastic vibe; if used moderately. The pop of any of these colors can add a quirky and interesting look to the whole outfit. For instance, an orange/yellow shoe or a handbag makes the whole appearance very vibrant.

  • Green: Finally, the color green (I am not a big fan). I like greenery around myself but not wearing it. Every color is a personal choice and this one signifies harmony, freshness, and reassurance. However, if you are a green person, I would recommend you to stick towards the Khaki or tan shades. It looks super flattering, especially during the monsoons. A Khaki pants with a black/white top or a shirt would be my go-to.

We all need lots and lots of colors in our lives. So, don’t just stick to basics, experience the power of colors since they bring happiness, positivity and brightness. 🙂 🙂
