It’s Vegas baby!!!

By now the world knows that when you are in the US, you don’t miss a chance to visit Las Vegas. And since I am part of this WORLD :P, I had to follow the ritual and book my tickets to Vegas.

The flight from Jersey was super early, so I had to go to the airport with a sleepy head. The flight duration was almost 5 hours…..Now, as much as I love traveling, long flights (yes, 5 hours is pretty long for me) bother me. I need to stretch every hour of my life and currently, do not have the luxury to travel business class 😀 Therefore, comfort was the only thing in my mind for the airport look. I threw my most favorite red lower with a black spaghetti crop top and comfy slip-on.

Location: Candlewood Suites, Las Vegas
Red Lower: Forever21
Slip-on: Ralph Lauren

The flight landed at around 9:00 AM Vegas time and I headed straight to the hotel. The first-day stay was at the Candlewood Suites, which is slightly far from the ‘The Strip’. I will discuss more in detail about the Strip little later. The hotel was generous to give an early check-in. Post settling in, I googled for some nearby breakfast places because “Food is BAE” and I was starving to death. After multiple failed attempts to find a good place, I landed at The Sterling Spoon Cafe, which is a restaurant inside the Silver Sevens Hotel Casino. To my surprise, the food was pretty amazing.

After coming back to the hotel, I put on my swimwear and sunscreen, took a relaxing dip in the pool and soaked the sun till sunset. That’s the best part of all my holidays. I am a big-time water baby.

Then came the exciting evening as it was CASINO NIGHT! So, let me tell you something very basic about Casino. YOU NEED CASH, A LOT OF IT! 😀 because once you get addicted (it tends to happen dude), you will never know when you are bankrupt. Hence, I put myself in a budget to spend in Casinos for the whole trip. That’s the best thing to do unless off course you have the CASH baby! The plan was to stick by ‘The Strip’ that night. Las Vegas Strip is basically the place where all the big shot Hotels and Casinos are located such as Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan, The Mirage, Mandalay Bay, Wynn, The Venetian, etc. Let me tell you a fun fact about this place.

-That famed “Las Vegas Strip” is technically located just outside the city, the border of which is Sarah Avenue. The Stratosphere is technically in Vegas, but almost everything to the south is in unincorporated Clark County, Nevada.

The first stop was Bellagio. Man, the interior of these hotels is worth visiting for and the fountain show right outside the hotel is not to be missed. I actually didn’t gamble much, rather explored the mesmerizing hotels around and got a lot of pictures clicked 😀

Shoes: Truffle Collection

I can’t begin to tell about the second day. I moved to Hilton for the rest of my trip. It was the pool-hoping party day. I got very good deals on Groupon. Here is the first tip. Do check Groupon for exciting deals for things you want to do. So, this deal was all about a party bus picking up from one location, providing booze on the bus and taking around 2-3 different beach clubs in several hotels with a bunch of other people who took the same deal. My pickup point was the Flamingo Hotel (Note: put on your swimwear with a coverup and please carry your sunscreen, shades and a small towel). The first party spot was the Drai’s beach club in the Cromwell Hotel. The crowd was super fun and the music was bomb. We spent around 45 mins here and then headed to our next destination which was the Daylight Beach Club in Mandalay Bay resort. Another tip is- make the most of the free booze that’s provided on the bus because drinks inside these clubs are pretty expensive. The last stop was the Go Pool in the Flamingo Hotel, also called the Lagoon Pool. This pool has the most scenic view with faux-rock design, overhangs, and cozy, grotto-type escape behind a waterfall wall of water pouring down into the pool.

It was a crazy day and I was super tried to do anything else that day, so headed straight back to my hotel and slept through the night.

On the third day, I had an early morning tour to the Grand Canyon. Again, Groupon came to rescue and I got a pretty decent deal to the Southern Rim. The Grand Canyon is huge and divided into Northern, Southern and Western Rim. The famous Skywalk is on the Western rim; however, I was suggested to visit the Southern rim as it is more picturesque and you can see the Colorado River flowing by the Canyon. You can google everything about it but I want to justify its beauty by these pictures.

The same night, I checked a few other hotels such as The Venetian, The Mirage and also visited a strip club. That’s when I am supposed to use the phrase- “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” 😀

Finally, it was the last day. I usually book late evening flights so that I get one more day to utilize. I checked out at noon, left my luggage at the hotel’s luggage room and headed to Fremont Street, which is the old Vegas. The street has beautiful wall graffiti and the Casinos are way cheaper than the ones in The Strip. The first stop was the Golden Nugget hotel where I gambled for some time (won for a change :DD), followed by walking through the entire street. There were still a few hours left, so I decided to head back to the Strip, see The Cosmopolitan, The Planet Bollywood, The Caesars Palace and The Eiffel Tower restaurant.

Location: The Venetian

Vegas is not more than a 3-day trip if you plan to see the Grand Canyon and MONEY is something you really need if you want to enjoy the proper Vegas nightlife.
